The XQ Super School Project

The XQ Super School Project, initiated by Emerson Collective and led by Laurene Powell Jobs, partnered with Amplify Education and other collaborators to launch a high school reform movement. The project's cornerstone was a website hosting a nationwide school redesign competition to transform U.S. high schools.

The Ask:
Craft and execute a strategic and engaging online platform to host the XQ Super School’s nationwide high school redesign competition.

The Impact:
The XQ Super School website successfully launched, establishing a central hub for the nationwide competition that has sparked significant engagement and innovative designs for the future of high schools across the U.S.

We developed and unveiled the XQ Super School website, which features the XQ Challenge prominently. Serving as a comprehensive hub, the website provides a wealth of resources on high school reform, the XQ movement, and concept design competitions for schools.

Strategic Tool Design

Conceptualizing high school designs can be an intricate and often chaotic process. After delving into the depth of high school design resources, we recognized the need for applicant teams to have a platform for collaboration to shape their vision.

Inspired by the Business Model Canvas, I devised the XQ Canvas — a tool engineered to design the high school vision iteratively. I also spearheaded the creation of an introductory animation.

XQ DIRECTORY

Applicants of the XQ Challenge frequently struggle to locate and enlist suitable team members. Upon launching the XQ Website, we recognized a chance to assist them in finding the right collaborators. Consequently, I designed the XQ Directory, a new feature enabling users to search for and connect with individuals within the XQ community to form optimal teams. Additionally, I took the lead in designing an introductory animation to guide users through this new feature.
